Combines Corn silks between sieves

The trash is getting in threw the fan. There is lots of places for the trash to get in the fan area and get sucked in when the leaves are swirling around the combine. I was told to take the last row out of the chaffer to vent the trash out. Havent tried this yet but if I have trouble I am going to give it a try.

Was it a windy day with lots of turbulance swirling residue around the combineIJ My worst case was when the belly screen fell open. last winter I fastened 1" by 2" opening screen over all the large openings of the frame sidewalls. Removing the last louver of the chaffer won't prevent material from collecting on the fan vanes. Give some thought to how the material is getting to the fan in the first place.
