Your email looks like you are from the UK. So I might have to tell you that there really isn't just one gross weight limit for any trailer here. It all depends on axles, the total weight of the tractor trailer unit or artic as you guys call them. There are also different rules in the different states here in the US. A turbo always increases the power on an engine but not neccessarily the effinciency if you look at the fuel consumption. There are hardly any diesel engines made anymore without turbo because it enhances the compression and the torque so much. Gas engines respond much differently.
