you might want to check and see if your stalk roll knives are worn out at the back end of the stalk roll. i have had trouble with the same thing when the sharp edge is gone on the knives. Sometimes even when the leading front edge is worn away it will not be aggressive enough to get rid of the stalks fast enough. good luck

I agree. Had the same problem Tuesday with one row. As soon as i replaced the knives no more trouble. I adjusted the stripper plates and even was told by the dealer to tighten the slip clutch but neither helped except replacing the knives.

how close of clearence do you set the knives. dealer service man said to set it as close as a hacksaw blade. btw,,,one of my knives does not meet exactly at center. it is off just a little bit, if i moved it 90 degrees, will that correct itIJ

My dealer had a "gauge" that they made up. I'm not sure of the exact spacing. I guess the best answer that i can give you is the width of three quarters at the closest position. The crutial area for this setting is at the back or the end closest to the auger. If you didn't know this already and have access to a tractor with a front end loader you can stand the head on end rather then crawling on your back. Good luck!
