I'm curious I understand that the self-leveling shoe will be optional. I expect the prototypes are using the self level one.How well is it doingIJ

I was in grand island a few weeks ago and the self leveling shoe is one of the selling features on the CR. It has 22' rotors and 375hp. There is a smaller on with 18' rotors.

What do you think about the self leveling shoeIJ Does it put a higher quality grain in the tankIJWhat about other featuresIJ I'm disapointed that the chaff spreading hasn't been addressed beyond a chaff spreader.

I'm sure it will help put a little better sample into the bulktank, by spreading the grain over a larger area in the hills, but just as important it will help put more grain in the bulk tank, especailly in places like the Palouse hills in the PNW. I'd also bet that the residue issue will be solved by the time mass production comes on line, just guessing something like the Reddekop, or maybe more like the Case IH setup, since they are inbread cousins now.

I was always surprised that NH didn't put the self-leveling shoe in the TR's like they had in the TX series. Just a few degrees of side slope will vastly reduce the capacity of a combine due to loses over the chaffer. And a poorer sample will be in the tank.

The Cr has built in chaff spreader. It has two small fans that blow the chaff up into the chopper. If you have chance look at a Cx, it has this on it. The self leveling shoe is good for 15degree side hills.

Yea!!!! I'm sure happy to hear that they are including the chaff spreading system similar to the CX.Soybean straw and chaff are a big problem for no-till row crops.I consider the self-leveling shoe a major feature too. Its really a good idea. Thanks for the up date!
