Combines CR920

I am glad to here you like the new combines as I was starting to think I was maybe the only one out here that did. I hope as more people drive one we will here more reports as to the improvements on these new combines. I think it's impressive that the small combine can run a 30' head. I have only seen the big one and I don't think a 30' head will be near big enough on it to keep it full. I see the 920 has a machanical controled engine so did the engine rpm go up and downIJ The 970(w_electronically control) never would get off of 2100 rpm at all. I think the CR940 will be the big seller, but who knows. Ilnewholland

I have a question for you. How do you figure the CR920 compares in capacity to the TR98IJ Does it have as muchIJ I was considering trading a 98 on a 920.

Hey, I think they have made a lot of improvements over the TR's, unlike some of the others on this sight. The TR's were beyond there capacity years ago. The rotor drives are weak, the cleaning systems too small, and the cabs cramped. Aside from the price I think the new CR is a fine machine.

We cut in east central Indiana, and yes it handled the 30' with ease but compared to a tr98 it would be under powered in good beans. at least to run over 5mph a 940 in my guestimation would be Ideal for all typical 30' applications just cause it has more power and a bigger hopper.
