So the TR is better because you can just mess everything up inside it and keep on a goin'IJ Makes you sound like a good operator. (Tongue in cheek.) Isn't the idea to be doing a good jobIJ There's no way you can do a good job if everything's bent inside your machine. Especially if you're running two rotors in there.

No the point is that combines other than the STS are not put out of the field by a single damaging object. I never said it had to be a NH TR. In fact the TR86 I just bought a few weeks ago has several bowed rub bars in the left concave. My 4400 Deere also has a few bent rub bars but I never saw a need to change the concave in it either. Just because a 4" long section of one or two rub bars is no longer straight that doesn't stop the machine from doing its job. There's always a point where a bent concave needs to be replaced but if you looked in most combines you will find evidence of rock_tree branch damage in their concaves.

It depends what crop you are in. The CR does ok in small grains such as wheat, barley, or canola but if you get into the high yielding crops such as corn, soybeans, or irrigated wheat or barley the cleaning system can't keep up with the throughput of the rotors. The biggest problem is the paddle fan, it runs short on air. JD and CIH8010 will out perform the CR970. The clean grain elevator runs short of capacity as well in 200+ corn.
