I ran two air reels for the first time this fall. The air assisting reels saved me at least 5 bu. per acre in real short beans. With air assisting the feeding, you get much better and evenner feeding of the combine and alot less slugging of bunches especially when it gets tough. I ran an AWS System and a Crary system.

Unit 2, I'm sure your customers will like your commitment, but one thought, just a thought, I would also install Johnson rock and dirt guard to keep dirt out of beans.

Dk in MN, Here in Central KS. where I do 100% of my custom bean havesting is one of the rare places on earth where there are no rocks in the fields. As for dirt in the beans, I very seldom get a dock at the elevator for dirt in the beans, is the air reel going to change thatIJ K.A.

Unit 2, no should not really change your dockage. Just if you did have problem with buildup. Must be next to heaven to combine with no rocks. Good luck with the reel.DK

I was going to put one on last fall but felt the $9,000 reel was a little much.Neighbor has one on a 20' 1020 and loves it.

DK, Yes it's nice not to have to worry about rocks, especialy in soybeans. Where I custom harvest wheat in OK. and S.D. they have their share of them. I have on occassion brought some home for souvenirs. I have them by my shop and when some of my nieghbors come over and see them they ask where they came from. When I tell them I picked them up in a wheat field in S.D. they can not believe it. K.A.

I,m sure you will like what the air will do for you. I had a crary but switched to an AWS much simpler system, more reliable and trouble free.
