Anytime you put on new cutting parts it helps. the Crary system works fine. I have not found it will increase your speed over what the oem stuff does when new. The Crary does have the adjustable hold downs with the plastic tabs. These work well but the tabs will leave on rare occasions, get a few extra. The SCH system requires the least amount of maintaining I have found. To increase speed the angle of attack i.e. tilting the cutterbar to make the tips closer to the ground and increasing the strokes _ min are the only thing that will really increse ground speed and still do a nice job of cutting.

I had Crary on my 320 Gleaner I used to run. I feel it did excellent in wheat. But in my opinion the standard 3" CIH is better in soybeans. Also the Crary didn't seem to wear any better. We can usually run around 5mph + or - with my 1020 with oil bath wobble box (in soybeans). CW

We bought a header with the gold cut and an air reel on it they work great. I think the gold cut is not as good as the factoy kwik cut sickle. (not much differance but more problems with the gold cut but might last longer) But the air reel allows you to cut faster and better. Dad would cut without one now. You have to adjust it correct to make it do the right job.
