Well shadow friends of mine had a perkins irrigation motor catch on fire, had not been used for a while,no battery in it and a fair way off the road no unusual tracks near it. They didn't do it for insurance either because they fixed it themselves. If any-one has a answer they would love to hear it.john

One explanation could be Static electricity ,Under here we drag a light chain from the rear axle ,But it only happens while we are harvesting and mainly in lupins very flammable

I had a engine fire in my 860 when in use. I fixed it, and fixed other things over the years. last year some trash started it on fire, got it out without any damage. later that day I felt like kicking myself for not letting it burn, and getting the insurance money in order to replace the old machine.
