Combines Crop report across the land input request

Corn and soys in southern Minnesota look fabulous with very little stress visible. Cool nights allow plants to suck up moisture even though we havent had rain for several weeks. A few more hot windy days like we had last week could reduce yields.

We had a bumper wheat crop in north central Kansas, but it has not rained since. Much of the fall crops might not get harvested at all. Got home from sw ND last week. The wheat was below average and extremly early. Some of the fall crops might not be worth harvesting. Coming through western Nebraska, I saw some very sorry corn. Most of the milo and corn in Western Kansas looks more like pineapple. Even in Europe it is extremly dry. They have started corn silage in Germany over a week ago, what is at least four weeks early.

We are about mid-way between Tomah and Eau Claire, about 5 miles off the Interstate. And yes, the corn looked terrible on Aug. 2, but you should see it now! Beans in some areas are all but dead. We could cut 3rd crop hay with a lawn mower. Tom langan

Here in south central Nebraska we had excellant wheat.Fall crops are in terrible shape for second year in a row and fourthyear of below average crops. last year a lot of crops were not harvested and it wont be much better this year.

We are picking 100 bu. corn in SE Kansas near Joplin Mo. It could have been 200bu. Untill July hit hard. It has been 102 deg. all week and the ground was cracked a couple weeks ago. Beans are all but dead.

We live in S. Central Minnesota. Crops went from the best we have seen to near the worse. Our area has received 13 inches of rain since March 1st. Trouble is we got 7 of that the first week of May. It has not really rained since July 3rd and that really wasn't much. The corn looks like mid October where the ears are dropping and the beans are really stressing, we sprayed for aphids here too. Some corn has no green left on it. Drove into central Wisconsin and it looks the same there. Pro Farmer was here on Thursday as part of their crop tour, one of our better fields they pegged at 127 bpa. Not sure how they could come up with that high of a number when the ears are tipped down and dead, the test weight will be so low. They must not be able to figure in test weight in their calculations.

last year we had the same problems as you are having.This year we are 10 inches over normal for the yr already. Corn and beans were planted very late .wheat and oats was ok.Corn and bean yields will suffer . I saw corn just shooting taussel last night.8-22 I don`t ever remember leaving runts in our fields in august.

20 miles southeast of wichita kansas they are burnt up except for the milo planted in early may. we cut 45 acres of milo yesterday that made 80 bushels acre, probably have 100 more the same but 200 more that wont be worth cutting. holding off anymore field work until it rains then start putting on fertilizer for late sept wheat planting.
