Crops in southern Minnesota look about average but 2 weeks without rain and 90 degree heat have started to make crops look a little sick. Tom Russell

Here in SW Ky need rain bad. Some areas getting scattered showers, but what started out as a bumper crop now is about avg. No forecast for rain in next 5 days and actual temps for the past 10 days have been in mid to upper 90's w_yesterdays official temp 99.

just went out into best looking beans we have. Nearly 5' tall and no blooms, all fell off. Dug down 6" and no moisture. 100 degrees. 97% humidity. No rain in forcast. As hot and dry as I can remember. Corn will be 125 bu _a. ave.; soybeans IJ nothing if it doesn't rain.... except hay..- west tn. here. . we do have a few spots that got rain , don't mean to sound like a total drought or draft or wahtever.

NE North Dakota is very mixed. 3.2 million acres never got planted and another few hundred thousand hailed and drowned out. Right here in a fairly small area the crops are bumper although we have been an inch of rain from disaster all year. We need a price more than a bumper crop.

Here in NW Kansas, where we just harvested a bumper wheat crop (from 35 to 90 bushel)the corn and beans are behind about 2 weeks we are getting the heat units now should make up for lost growing days. Had a really hard 2" rain last week so dry land corn show make around a 100, beans its hard to tell only about knee high so far. The irrigated corn is really looking good, some scatted hailed hurt some but should see plenty of 200+ bushel unless it doesn't rain any in august. We have a long ways to go to harvest.

West Central Wisconsin - Had been quite dry - just getting enough rain to keep crops looking decent. Now small grain is ripe and we can't get it cut due to rain, high humidity, and HOT, HOT, HOT!! Got a storm last nite - 1" rain and high winds - oats went down in places. Barley is over ripe and weeds threaten to take over. Will be tough going when it dries out (IfIJ). Corn is pollinating and beans look super. Third crop alfalfa will rot in the field - no more room to store it. 1st and 2nd crops were bumper. Anyone need hay, it's free for the taking if you harvest it. Tom langan PS: Friggin' coons are getting all my sweet corn!

Here in South Central Kansas, conditions have been wet , just finished "mudding out the last of mud holes to finish up wheat harvest. There are reports of 60-90 bu._ac dry-land wheat in Kansas--great year was just hard to get crop with 10-15 days of rain delays. Fall crops look great with acres and acres of soybeans and some milo already headed. The irrigated farmers have used very little water this year as compared to other years.
