You are not the only one. We are doing peas now, and last sample I took in, the guy said 20% splits. The peas are really dry, and were desicated with round up, @ 1 litre_ acre. I am running the cylinder at 250, and concave just about wide open. Vararity of peas is "Swing". I also had trouble last year cracking with the CTS11 .

I also ran with the concave almost wide open and the cylinder at 250. Today someone asked me if I had removed the J-hook closure plates from the front of the concave and taken out the corn inserts that are in the upper rear part of the concave, to let more peas pass through to the shoe and less to the beater and tine separator. I had not done this and wonder if it helps. Putting the beater on slow speed and changing the pulley to make the tines turn at 500rpm did help some. How many bushels_ac are your peas running BigskyIJ Thanks.

dry peas should shell easy i would be removing the corn inserts and cover plates this should allow more peas to drop out with out bashing them more the needed good luck

Have done same. Forgot to mention that I opened pre cleaner up, and it helped a bit. Our peas are running anywhere from 16-20 bushels _ acre...S.E. Saskatchewan. Missed all the showers, and peas only bloomed 1 week. We knew they were in trouble then. Just a few miles from us, as CAT lexion doing peas, running cylinder at 160 (so I was told) and 3% splits.
