Combines CTS II unsatisfying capacity

Your cylinder speed should be at least 900-950 to beging with. On hard to thresh wheat, concave should be at least 20-22...and even more open on easier to thresh wheat. Your tine seperators will thresh out the balance, or should.

Open the big girl up, CTS do most of their threshing in the CTS area. You should be 3 - 5 Tonnes an hour quicker than most walker machines of that era

Thanks! I was wondering about that, 750 did seem slow. I'm totally new to this machine, only ran it for 2 days so far. The boss said he just goes with the book, so I did too. I'll see what it does with a more open concave, we should get into wheat again next week. It's barley for now and I'm still finishing up at University.

I thought so too, thanks. I'll try that. I thought 14 was a little tight, but I just went with the book like the boss said, since I'm totally new to this combine.

It was truly brilliant in barley. Yields were all over the place, but average is about 2.5 tonnes_hectare. Some of the better fields were over 3 t_ha and it just kept running, I was limited by loss only. Picking 30' swaths I can run average 7.5 km_h easy, only slow down when it starts losing too much over the sieve or when the sidehills are steep. In wheat I was not impressed, but I'll fiddle with the settings when I go back next week. Wheat is running about 40 bu_a, but those were on small fields of experimental varieties. The good stuff is still standing.
