The guys that cut corn here last year said they did an excellent job on corn with the right concaves(takes bout 2 hrs to change concaves)also produced a good sample in the bin.Plenty of h.p.too.

we run a cts 2 which we find handles all conditions corn included we run 2388 as well and the cts will perform has well has them.. the best side of it is we have found the cts low in the repair bills compared to the 2388 i come from new zealand and there are a number of cts running in the maize which all seem to handle it well hope this helps

Do you have the back of the concave opened up by removing concave inserts or concave closure plates.Or you can try putting the beater in low gear.Beater belt is tight.CTS is not the best canola combine or less the straw is tough.Should have tine filler plates on.

Need a bit more info. What cylinder speed were you using, etc. A lot of guys unfamiliar with the CTS, set up the combine same as with their conventionals, like your 9610. First off you would use more concave clearance on your CTS than 9610. This is also on wheat, barley..etc. You let the tine seperators do a lot of the work. We ran a CTS11 this harvest. You run the cylinder in low range, at approx. 450 R.P.M. for canola. As we hit some tough conditions, with a bit of snow, we had to go to high range, at 800 R.P.M., and then the beater belt started to beep like you said. We found that the belt was a bit polished up, and replaced it. This helped a bit, but would recomend putting beater in low. We got 5 inches of snow on our canola swaths, so at a stand still now......till maybe spring.

you will always be slighty slower than 9610 in canola because of feederhouse and cylinder size i would not run beater in low speed that is only for delicate crops like peas or lentils i would always run your cylinder faster than recomended in book 630- 700 rpms if your beater belt is tight your beater lite is telling that your at limit i have had these combines for ten years and have found if you set them rite they are pretty good machines

The guys at John Deere say to put it in low.This fall combining real dry Barley and the straw was kind of rotten,could only 3mph.Put the beater in low and could as fast has 2nd gear would go,but as soon has it gets tough,i had to switch it back.WE have two CTS has anyone tried sunnybrook cyl there supposed to stop the backfeeding in canola.
