Combines cummins 9l a dud

Snowing here to,where you fromIJNeighbour has a 9790 with the same problems,be nice to see a Valmet engine instead of the Cummins.

hi, Guy, we are from North Battleford, sask, and its snowing again tonight. The machine itself is great but it trully needs 375plus hp. we run a 36ft draper and under load , trying to unload on the go you need more power. it seems to me that these companies are trying to get more hp out of smaller engines while trying to keep up with emission standards and the motors can't handle it , unless I,am told different. I would be interested in talking to your neighbor to see what story he was told , either from Agco or Cummins. thanks

I agree about the 375 horse. I have never ran a Massey with constant rotor speed until the 9790. I think that it has something to do with the engine lugging down so easy. The rotor speed stays the same but everything else slows down. Buzzer comes on at 2000 rpm and I hear it alot. I slow down before the cart pulls under me so I can still have enough power to cut and unload. Is there a chip we can buy for the engine. Its all electronic. I really don't care if it puts out a few more hydrocarbons into the atmosphere. I need more power.

Wrong application for the 9 l motor. Rated too high and duty cycle with the hydraulics is too high. AGCO is who is to blame. This engine is maxed out at 325 HP. AGCO should use the 11l M series Cummins for a 375 HP rating. It is a similar size motor to that used in the 8010 and will run reliably in this application. Another example of AGCO going on the cheap.
