Combines cummins engines

I think they should stay with the GENESIS engine. Pound for pound this engine is far more efficient and cleaner burning than a cat could ever be.

Obviously anyone who has run a NH combine with the Genesis wishes they'd stay with the Genesis, but would you buy the new prototype if it had a cummins engineIJ

I use a case Magnum 7250, with a cummins engine that has 325+ hp, to pull a powerharrow. I love the engine, it dosn't make any noise and runs very smooth. The only problem I can think of is the torgue.

The prototype BIG YEllOW JACKET or is it Bumble Bee has a Iveco 425 HP throbbing in it. What a horse. Its the strongest, smoothest running, easiest handling combine I have ever driven. And no I am not a NH man.

I don't know if it is true but someone told me New Holland used an Iveco motor in the self propelled harvesters for a few years but they had crank problems and they returned to using Cat engines.

In Europe NH are powered by an Iveco-Aifo engine. I heard that is a good engine but it consumes more than a Claas ( Mercedes or Perkins) or than a Deutz-Fahr ( Deutz engines ) but nobody had mechanicals problems with it.

The tractors and combine that has cummins in we have had good luck with, the 903 no problem except a oil cooler 5000 hours, 8.3 in combine we got used so don't now, 8.3 in tractor we put 4000 hour on it of 9000 we replace fuel pump no other and I think it is gitting a little week, 2 tractors with 5.9 at 7000 and 8000 hours still going strong, the 3.9 in the little tractor had the ingictor pump gone through this year (had fuel leek only) the engine still gone strong the tractor is gitting tired. The shop that my family partner in they went to cummis school so they could do the work on the engines, but they had problem with agco and now are kick out of agco, I don't know if it was agco or there stupid partner.

Ralf, The Cummins_Agco situation is kind of a screwy deal. My dealer is authorized to work on, and even has a parts book for the 8.3 that is put in the R62. The M11 in the R72s is a different deal though. I needed a thermostat and oil sender for my M11. Dealer knew the right nos. to call and got them, but not sure if it was from Agco or Cummins. Agco HQ told him that things are going to change in that department, and soon. They will either authorize the dealers who want to work on them or they'll find something different. Now, with that said, I still remain impressed with the M11. It is a very nice combine engine. Of course a Cat C-12 would be too. With the recent coziness between Agco and Cat and once all the details of "who bought who" settles out, it wouldn't come as a surprise to me if Cat engines begin to show up in more and more Agco stuff. Dakota, Do you know what led up to the cummins engines in your trucks blowing upIJ I've had cummins in the last two sets off trucks I've had and just haven't had any trouble at all.
