Combines cupped elevator chain sprockets

Do not put an old chain on new sprockets if you want a reasonable life from the sprockets or want to avoid chain breakages. Do not put a new chain on very worn sprockets if you want the chain to last more than a few hours. Chain is easier and cheaper to replace than sprockets. Replacing chain that has some moderate wear rather than waiting until badly worn will give sprockets a much longer life and cause a lot less trouble. Cheers!

In this situation I believe that the chain is more expencive than the sprockets. Priced them on an F2 and the clean grain chain is $500 to $600 and the sprockets are $15 to $20 for the top or bottom. n50 chain is cheap, but elevator chain is $$$!

Never used anything other than Agco for they last good. I do wish they would go with 557 chrome pins along with chrome sprockets like newer machines have. Normally for that diameter sprocket you better replace chain also or it will grind them new sprockets out quickly. It doesn't take much stretch on that small diameter to cause chain to climb on sprocket.

Good to see you back on the site. Go with the Agco. I'm beginning to really believe in original equipment parts. You usually get what you pay for and it's only money. Remember those marketing experts last spring said we'd probably see $3.00 or better corn for along time. HA! HA! Not sure who's wrong more often, Market experts or weather forcasters. HAVE A SAFE HARVEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since you need to replace both, you might want to run them till they won't go any more.Although badly worn, they might suprise you as to how much more use you can get out of them.
