Combines cutting beans

Thanks for the inspiration, Joeman. I think I speak for all Canadians when I say that much of your thoughts apply to your northerly neighbours as well. We all need to stop and smell the roses once in a while. I underwent a major lifestyle change this year, but managed to stay farming, and much appreciate those close to me and my place in life. When I hear people complain, I tell them we live in paradise. look around you and ask yourself if there is another country in the world where you would rather liveIJ Sure maybe we'ed like an easier lifestyle, new car, bigger home, etc., but I'll bet my last dollar that more farmers are content with their place in life than most other professions, in spite of mad cow, low corn prices or fickle weather. Could you really imagine yourself doing anything else for the long term, and if so, why are you farmingIJ let us all appreciate what we have, and head out the lane with the same smile your Dad had many years ago. Ben.

Yes, we're seeing the same thing. Our beans seem to have retained their "life" in sandy areas where it got extremely dry this summer. Seems like they went dormant during the drought, sprung back to life when we finally started getting rain, and now don't want to finish maturing. We're also waiting for a good, hard freeze to finish them off. Also have a lot of lambsquarter that needs to be killed off. We can't blow the seed out when they are green like this. Beans didn't shade the rows very well and weeds came back after initial application of Roundup. Sprayed most fields twice this summer but still have weeds.

Bob, Sounds like you have been watching me cut for the last week. The beans to look at them, you would say they would test 20,when you cut them they go through like 20. When you test them they are 11 %. IG
