What about steep pitched shimmed helicals in the threshing area transitioned into reg pitch over the sep section, extended helical that is at the correct angle, a set of rotor vanes (blade type helicals in lieu of a couple of cyl bars that can be added when needed) 4 or six disruptor knives in the sep area to add to your wish list. I have not answered your question have I. The air conditioner in the new 5 series runs all the time. Will freeze your laticicles off. The way it keeps from hypothermalizing the inhabitants is to run eng coolant through the heater core as a thermostat. (Most 5 owners have been told to go to the engine block and shut off the coolant valve to the heater then open only 1_4 turn for AC conditions.) You have excellent suggestions, they will not go unnoticed, remember big battleships are turned slowly by persistant little rudders.

Well, Gleaner finally made an air conditioned cab for us northerners! We Klondike inhabitants won't be turning the coolant back open 1_4 of the way at all, we'll just slip on the ol' sheepskin jacket if needed. You southerners are too soft! I just need to talk Tom Russell into ordering a new R65 now, and while he's at it, he can order me one of those R55's. Tom langan

Ah ha! Tbran! Funny you talk about the new Air con on the 5 series! local Air con man I use, have just been to a Green and Yellow (wonder which brand I mean!! they never break down!!!) machine, was looking at his climate control and commented that he need air con thermostat installed as the air con compressor head pressure was getting way to high and destroying the compressors on really hot day!! (air con on flat out all day!!!!! then you add more heat to warm you up in cab!!! there's enough hot air in the cab with me in there!!!!) he installed the new thermostat and the heater was turned off and the air con has never worked better! I bought a R65 this summer and yes the air con can overcool you on hot days if you don't feather the heater valve just right. If you have the heater valve on too far it lacks a bit on cooling on very hot days (August)! I have the return to rotor and all other options except 4 wheel drive. I harvested wheat, corn (200 bu.) and soys and found no rotor loss (compared to my axial rotor) and shoe loss was non existant. Overall it has been a pleasant experience.
