Speaking of Hyd. Deck plates - Have you ever had them seizeIJ I had one set seize a couple of years ago. When I tried to move them, I broke the adjusting arm. Fortunately it was easy to weld it back on. We removed all the other sets at that time and found that rust had formed on the plastic sheets that the deck plates slide on. We cleaned them up and reinstalled them. I had not further problems. It really wasn't too tough to remove the assembly and clean them. This might be a good idea for a preseason project.

last year when we got the header out they were froze up and the end was broke off the end of the cylinder, jd wanted over $200 for the cylinder so we just welded it back on, I've noticed this year the plates are getting tighter again so next year we will probably remove and clean them before the season. I most have picked up one heck of a rock this year because I have one plate that is broke, and the rollers are scared in the same location.
