Deere might say that that all their parts prices are the same, but I know for a fact that it is not true. My local dealer is 10% higher on parts than another dealer about 35 miles away. I have priced parts from both of them, and one is consistantly 10% higher on everything. If a machine is dead in the field, I will pay the extra 10 percent, to get it back running, but I don't deal with him unless I absolutely have to.

Dealers have the final say on the retail end of sales. They have the liberty to mark-up prices as they see fit to suit their market's demand. Albeit, not always fair, but it is market drivien and every dealership from auto to farm equipment, no matter the color, participate in these sort of tactics.

I also bought a brand new tractor from the dealer who gives me the best deal on parts, the other guy was about the same price on the tractor, but I figured I would buy if from the guy who dosen't try to stick me on parts.

I worked for a Deere dealer for nine years. JD has a list price which is the same coast to coast. But I know alot of dealers mark up there prices 10-15 percent. My advise is don't do buiseness with those dealers. Deere doesn't recommend any dealer to raise there price. So the question is, is your dealer being honest with youIJ

I know when we bought our 8310 this past winter the list price that came from the dealers computer printout was about 15-20 percent higher than the price he quoted us at. So dealers go the other way on equipment, not sure on parts though.

you could send 3 people to a dealer and get 3 different prices for thr same thing.Dealers know their customers and know who they can gouge and who shops around.
