I would personally give the Case boys another year to iron out the bugs on this combine; then I would consider a purchase.

Well with my 8010 in 70bu. wheat we ran 5mpr plus, at 110% power, and just kept eating it with 36ft crary. We love ours.

That is what i thought it should do. If i pushed it more then 106% it would fall flat on it face. My two 72 are not small machines but this 8010 was easily out done by my two. I would have hated to see it with a 42 foot head, it would have been very emberassing to the 8010. Again I think it will be a very strong machine if they get bugs out of it. I am not bashing it by all means it just would not out preform my 72's. Colin

To be entirely honest you will be better off upgrading to an R75 than the 8010. It does sound like the 8010 was not performing up to its full potential, but the R75 will give you more productivity for your dollars spent than the 8010 will.

The IVECO Curry engines are supposed to run up to 115% only if the unloader is running. 115% is the point where the fuel gets derated. If the unloader is not running then it should only go to about 105% before derate occurs. Also if the engine water temp hits 105 degrees C, then the engine begins a slow derate as temp increases. At something around 125 degrees C you only get 50% engine torque due to the temperture derate. There have been several guys on the NH page disappointed by the CR970 in wheat also. On the other hand, they really eat beans.
