Skip, Sorry to hear about your misfortune.The Denison hydro was used in Gleaners from 1981 in the N7 up until 1987 when the Sunstrand hydro was phased into the system.Your 1984 N5 should have a Denison Mark X in it.The Denison Mark IX was used in 1981 N6and7's(There was a Mark I used in early N7's)In 1984 all N's had the Mark X hydro and then in 1985 they went to a Mark XA,and finally in 1986 the Mark XB was used. Hopefully you will be able to find one in a yard with your age of combine or newer.The Denison hydro was a very reliable unit only very expensive if you had to open one up. If you get in a real pinch I do have a Mark XB out of a R5 that has been completely gone through after 1200 hours use.(Combine itself went through a fire but wanted to make sure hydro was fresh and ready.$5000) Good luck, Hyper Harvest II
