Replaced mine this year. 2800 eng hrs. Probably should have done it sooner. Fan was $800. Did work myself. 3 yrs ago fan was $256, but may have priced wrong one. Several different models according to engine serial no. Somewhere in discussion the wear limits were listed.

Replaced the bearings in corn season'02 at about 12000 engine hours. Never replaced the fan. Talk to the dealer mechanic and said it's rare here (spain) to replace a fan in a combine or tractor. The bearings cost about 13, so a little less in US$

Depends greatly on crops, conditions, and how many machines making dust in same area. I've seen less than 500hrs on the I6 machines running edible beans with two machines running together. I've seen over 2000hrs on some V8s with original non-coated blade but getting high time to replace. I'd have to check some prices but I believe you could do a quick blade swap with standard blade for $500US range on I6 and or as high as $1500US for coated blade switch on the V8s. Hope that helps

The Deutz I had in my R50 needed a fan about every 750 hrs. running in corn, soybeans, milo, wheat.

I have ben having intermittant trouble with my head temperature light. At 2900 hours, I suspect the fan. But, what should operating temp be on the heads if checked with an infrared thermometerIJ Always looking for a better way to de-bug! Thanks! Tom
