Tomcat, I am very familar with the deutz engine. I do not know were you are located, but at the very least i am willing to answer your questions as best as i can. I work tomorrow morning (sat) and would be glad to take a call. The number is 1-877-805-3396. Ask for Van. We are in north western Oklahoma and in the central time zone.If you dont catch me tomorrow we are mon-fri, 8-5 during the winter months. vstk

If we have one fail we do all six. We keep pistons in jugs to avoid ring work if jug is OK. The shims under jug come out of place which allows jug to tilt thus leakage at head and so on. If you happen to notice snap when starting or reving you can avoid more major problems. We will never use a pair of shims under jug and try very hard to use the single .020" even if crown clearance doesn't end up perfect. The single thicker shim is way more likely to stay in place even if engine is put to work cold and shut down hot ect. like I explaned down aways on 9815 talk this engine will be nice to you but not without careful care and treatment. Good luck
