just swapped one out on friday. i believe it was about 3000 lbs. the one i took out would have cost more to over haul than it would to get the one we got. it cost 22250 to swap and if your crank and cam is okay i figured about 19000 to do a major on it. we got a complete rebuild from some place in michigan if you want more info you can let me know. i do know that the guy who rebuilds them said it takes him 120 hours to do it. hope this helps. brian in illinois. also what happened to your motor.

Thanks for weight estimate, wasn't sure if we could lift motor. Broken crank, near flywheel. I think top end is in good condition. It used 3 liters of oil in about 70 running hours. We will be lifting the engine in the next day or two and checking block for damage. If block is damaged not sure what we will be doing. Price I got for a Deutz crank was $22000 CND.

We have had good luck getting Deutz parts from this company: Central Diesel and Supply, Inc., 3500 A.B.C. Road (640 W),lake Wales, Florida 33853 Phone 1-800-941-2105 He works directly with Deutz from Germany, so less mark-up of prices. Good luck!

I got name for place in Michagan at the shop, likly same place of Brian delt with. Also try Gier Diesel in Dodge City, Kansas. I'll see if I can find some Canadian loctions for you. I know their are some salvage yards up there with burnt machine and they could have undamaged cranks. Good luck

Thanks for posts, KMK is one of my dealers. I have checks most of the bigger combine yards in Western Canada without any luck.

Shop forman from Weyburn Tractor tells me he returned a core to KMK that he thinks should have a good crank. Possible KMK has stripped and sold crank already. Good luck.

If you engine is not worth repairing, or the parts prices are just a killer high (sounds like it with cost of crank) look at a Cummins replacement. They make them that just drop in the Gleaner combines. I am from Indiana and there is a Agco dealer that sells serveral for AC tractors and Combines. Hunley Sales and Service Inc. 3636 Frountage Road P.O. Box 100 Austin, Indiana 47102 812-794-2771 Just a thought.....
