Combines Deutz engines in America

I have a 1988 Gleaner R50 with a Deutz engine. It has 3000 hours. I'd prefer to have a Cummins. First, I have a Case tractor with the 8.3 l engine so filters etc would be common. Second, the tractor starts very well in cold weather while the Deutz engine is almost impossible to start at 0 C or colder unless the ether injector is working well. Third, cost and availability of parts is much, much better for Cummins.

If you have not had any problems with your air cooled Deutz, I would stick with it. The old Deutz air cooled are a lot easier to maintain and repair than any cummins. Since you are in Spain, closed to Germany, parts shouldn't be a problem for you.

I have ran combines with both kind of engines and I enjoy the less mantanice of the Duetz, the cummins just has more power.
