There is a very small orfice it goes through. If it's the same as the tractors, it gives it one shot when cranked. If it doesn't start, you have to turn the key off and try it again to give it another shot. It does also have a temp sensor. I would disconect the line somewhere and use a jumper wire energize it to see if the ether is getting through that orfice.

As said, there is a very small orifice in the right angle connector at the bottom of the solenoid. (left hand tread into solenoid) Also a brass filter with o-ring pushed into connector. The temperature sensor was thread into dry hole on block near alternator. (if I remember) Best check is to had someone listening for the solenoid click when you hit starter. if no click check wiring, if a click clean the orifice. There is also a larger orifice in the intake manifold adapter that should be pointed in direction of air flow. I had cleaned them by blowing solvent backward , as the orifice is so small you can't feel any air movement.

everyone I have ever been around is stopped up. The nozzel is metered, remove it to test, drill out the right angle fitting as stated with small bit, unscrew the temp sensor connect the wires and place in glass of ice water if the temp is above 50 degress then jump from the other positive wire to 12v. if everthing works reconnect. Also check to see if you are getting 12v at cranking to the FUEl PUMP on the RH side of the eng at the pump back, This retards the timing for cranking and adds fuel thus 'chokes' the engine to start. Always put throttle wide open on cold starts then pull back as engine gains rpms.

Suggestions above were all right on the mark - brass elbow was blocked and oring was shot - thought about drilling out but wound up buying new elbow - looked like a better design with a threaded filter and orifice instead of a popin with an oring. Thanks to all.
