Best I can tell after looking at the auction listing . The same thing happening to Dexter is Happening to alot of Dealers, "stuck with alot of trade in's in a depressed economy". looking at his sale bill he has 39 used tractors and 6 used harvesters and a number of headers. His support eqiupment is not to extravagant nor are the listings in the shop equipment and store fixtures..... I'll bet it was the $$$ tied up in tradeins.

I went down to see Dan this fall and he had quite a dealership. He built that new showroom, and a lot of his equipment he bought down south and at auctions cheap. Most of the JD's and IH's were not brought in on trade, he would buy them fix them up and give them a paint job. If you ever want to see one impressive toy collection you should see his, he has one of everything. He also has a JD 8020 four wheel drive completely restored that is worth quite a few bucks. I was talking to our Agco dealer about this deal today and he said that Dan's Dad just past away 2 months ago. He said that his Dad really liked the buissnes but he was pretty well tired of it,and if anything happened to his Dad he would porbably get out of the dealership. This was about 2 months ago when he talked to him. So he might have just had enough. But all that money that was spent on that place someone is going to take a beating. JOHN FERGUSON

I bought a 4020 from Dexters last fall. They seemed like realy nice people. The salesman said that 80% of their business was used equipment. The toy collection is very impressive,and also the antique tractors. The old tractors will be sold at a later date. The 8020 is awsome,I took some pictures of it. He also has an 8020 at his farm thats unrestored. Steve
