Have you checked to see if you are getting a speed(mph) reading when this happensIJ If you are not, you will need to check the wire on the transmission and the sensor. What about checking the reel speed sensor on the reelIJ This is all the help that I can give you, and it's not much. Good luck.

Our 2001 9650 sts has the same problem and I have heard they had a computer chip problem and replaced a bunch. Our 2002 sts does not have the same dial a speed setup as the 2001 so I wonder if there was a problem that needed a fix.
