The answer is yes. In late 1992 a few prototype 1660's were made just prior to the introduction of the 1666. The dealer told me there were only a few made this way. An aquaintance of mine bought one new in October 1992 here in Ontario. It was delivered just after coming off the truck. To my knowledge it is the only one in Ontario. I remember looking at it just after it was delivered and that was the only change I noted. It still had a 1660 serial tag and decals. So the answer is yes, a very few were made.
