Combines Discharge Paddles

Have you got the extended bars and modified paddles into the discharge area as per Hyper ModsIJ They are a must! Seriously worn discharge paddles could lead to a build up of material in the discharge area and a bank up of material back into the separator area with a deterioration in the separation abilities ,i.e more power needed and more rotor losses. The paddles are pretty easy and cheap to make out of some flat steel, using the old ones as patterns. Cheers!

Just like a discharge beater that has flat blades out can kill a perfect machine so can badly worn discharge paddles. I don't believe new paddles are very spendy and they have a little bend to them to try get them to run square to flow. Wouldn't be a bad idea to hard surface leeding edge of blade. There are some machines with cylinder bars in place of paddles to help spread material accross discharge and help keep it discharging well. If you run Sunnybrook cylinder that has rolled back discharge blades you may want to have straight ones made. Heavy long straw can just kill these machines if discharge beater and discharge bars are not doing their job. like R.O.M said don't even question getting bars extended at least to discharge. You allways have reverse bars and the like if you want to control cylinder constipation. Good luck

Check on loewen webb site, they have several types of discharge bars available, short or long and also the OEM style blades.

I have never been around manchester chains, but I asked a service tech about them once. He had told me that they have a tendency of doing too much of a good thing and actually hook the crop when its supposed to enter the processor bringing the crop back around the feederhouse. Although I have never seen them work. What did they do for youIJ

I had manchester in an N7 and it worked fine. Heavier slats are a plus. If the leading edge is hard surfaced with powder they feed exceptionly well. However I would not take out a servicable set of standard slats until it is time to replace chain ect. I'm going to try welding some flat iron on to the regular slat to simulate the manchester design. Biggest feeding improvement above and beyond all the basic stuff is the Hurtt feeder house mods. It works. It makes that M 11 work work work. I have discovered that the grain loss monitor setup, Pacer, out of an MH fits into an R72 quite nicely. Gives 4 more pads to provide complete shoe coverage. Using the MH wiring harness makes it a vertial bolt in.

Dealer gave you specs. published for P3 rotor discharge paddles. You are on track with the 75 foot pounds for the P1 paddles with 1_2" hardware. I did modify Gleaner feed chains to copy Manchester the best I could and found little improvement. If your Manchester did not have aggresive knotches similiar to Gleaner on all the slats you could likely have trouble in tough feeding straw. I believe they are available with flat slats, knotched slats, and half and half. We were doing this testing on R72. We had various stages of mods in feeder and found out it is very important to keep rear chain tentioned to and beyond specs a bit. This R72 was the first in the world to have floors tilted down and second with hump removed under tention drum. It has been a hungry beast ever since.
