Combines disrupters IJ for tbran

I installed four of tbran's disrupters in our R52 this summer before cutting small grain. None of them have turned yet - even in very heavy, tough straw. But I really cranked down on them with a 3_4" drive ratchet. I suppose that tough or green stemmed beans will be the real test though. If you have ground them down as per tbran's instructions, they shouldn't bother the helicals even if they do turn. Good luck- Tom langan

I have not had any move; we tso -tighten the uh you get the idea. Grade 8 bolt.I cannot remember but I think you can weld either one. Keep in balance as much as possible. IF you feel better it will not hurt to weld. If it turns it will not hit. To those with R40504252's the "disruptors" WIll hit the thresher grate if they are placed inside the threshing area. They have to be ground down in the grate area to cyl bar height. Tl is good testimony to the non-movement. Also we have a R62 with 830 hyd adjust strip plates running with a 9750 with 1230. Very favorable so far. Natek will post results hopefully, as he set up and is monitoring the demos.

Thanks. I welded a 5_16 x 3" piece behind the disrupter so it hung down behind the support. What concerned me is when I had the bolt tight as I could with a breaker bar I could move the disrupter with a hammer blow. If I turn them far enough they do stick up above the cylinder bar profile at least a quarter inch. (I ground the top down to a flat 1" and sharpened the front sides to a point.) I thought it was easier to do the keystock now than to have to take them out after I put it back together and then checked clearance. I balance every thing down to .1 ounce with a digital mail scale. The unbalanced bars vary up to 1 ounce but usually in a set you can get to .1 or .2 per pair. The matched discharge bars were balanced to .6 which I corrected with a washer.

Do you check weights of other stuff with your digital scaleIJ We have found that so-called pairs of aftermarket cylinder bars arent even close to being balanced. We found that it takes some operator rethinking to do a good job with our digital postal scale because it always rounds up to the next 1_2 oz. Tom in MN

The bars I have been getting are all after market and don't claim to be balanced so I weigh all of them and sort them accordingly. I have never weighed any new Agco bars.I weighed the gussets from the R-50 and they varied by .6 but the ones from the R-62 only varied by .2. I would guess each company would have their own tollerances and could get away with some pretty wide ones if you never do wheat and only run in low range. luck of the draw says you should have heavy bars scattered over the whole cylinder. Murphy'slaw on the other hand says they will all be on the same side.
