Combines distance between concave wiresIJ

I'd be thinking more in the neighborhood of 1.5" to 1.75" wire center to wire center. Good luck with this do-it-yourself project and let us know how it works!

I would use 1_4" dia. minimum for corn if you're going to cover a fair amount of acres. I've seen guys pick corn with grain concaves (small wires) with some wires removed and they get by with it if they don't have but maybe 50 acres or so and don't push things too hard. I'm not exactly sure how concave wires are made, but they are very stiff so you'll want to use some strong material. Maybe easiest to build your concave with wire holes that will fit a wire that Gleaner uses and just order the wires through your dealer. Good luck.
