I have a DMI 5250 50' and I usually go right into standing sunflower stubble and soybean stubble. As for horse power for that one I am not for sure but on mine I have a buhler 2425 and that is plenty of horsepower. I like how the DMI works little if at all leaks it seals up nice. Good luck

I guess nobody up hear in ND usually puts fertilizer on wheat stubble because it is usually soybean ground but I think that I should work ok if the ground is mellow enfough. Hope it works for ya still have alot of harvesting left up here about half done with the soybeans and havent been able to harvest for a week and a half. It is starting to get late up hear in ND just hope the snow holds off for awhile or there will be alot of soybeans in snow drifts. Have a safe harvest

I am from SW ND there are a lot that put anhydrous down on wheat stubble, but I dont know if they have any problems or not. Some have the anhydrous equipment on toolbars but other than that they have used no-till drills to put fertilizer down with (I think). Justin

I just got done modifying a DMI 30' machine for a neighbor to put dry fertilizer on in the fall. He pulls a flexi-coil air cart behind it, hasn't used it yet, but I can let you know. Other then that, when I was working on it, it seems to be built really well, I know its heavy, I even had to pry out how thick of steel they use for it (they never did tell me). But it will last.

I just found out that the applicator is a DMI 4100. Not sure about the number of knifes, but will find out this afternoon when I go home. Will keep all posted. Justin
