The CIH combine history site says commonality of parts. Have you comsidered a 1666 or 88. They don't appear to be much more expensive than a 1644. I run a 1688 with 6 row and 20' 1020. Yes a 44 would do it, but in 60bu+, green stem beans my 88 had it's hands full this year. Also your going to put less hrs. on a bigger machine. Just my 2 cents!
