Ok. By statitics the Duramax is "far superior" to the Ford(Found on Reservation Dump). But if you are not talking statitics then the Dodge is the best diesel. Mileage, power, reliability. Ford does not put Cummins engines in their pickups because doing that might tarnish the "Ford Name". They want to put only "genuine ford" componets in their trucks. Face it Chevy is King of the Mountain now and Ford will have to pull something out of there a$$ to compete. I gurantee that now that Chevy has upped the antee that Ford will be in 3rd place behind Dodge and Chevy. And by the way Cummins is not owned by Ford they are only a share holder.

Since 97 I own Dodge Cummins. I just put the first 2000 miles on my new 2001. Right now the Dodge with the six speed is the most dieselpower you can buy in a pickup. And Cummins has a lot more to give as soon as the Dodge drive train is ready for more. Besides this, the Dodge 3_4 ton is build like a 1 ton. Ford and Chevy 3_4 tons have smaller drive trains and rear axles. Why is Cummins the better choiceIJ look in a big truck. You will find only inline six's. Because an inline six will always deliver more torque out of less fuel in comparison to the same cubics of a V8. Or why is it that the smallest pickup diesel gives you the most power. It doesn't mean Chevy and Ford is a bad choice. But Chevy's diesel is not proven yet and Dodge has the biggest Cab, too.

Dakota, The 2001 dodge cummins is rated at 245 hp rightIJ Well that is not the most power or torque that you can buy in a pickup. The chevrolet is the largest with 300 hp and 520lb. torque. The ford is second with stock power of 250 hp. 505lbs. of torque or the optional engine with 275 hp and 520 lbs. torque. Dodge is actually the smallest in all of the classes. Smallest horse power, torque, and load ratings. But the cummins will have a little better fuel economy than the international or isuzu. The average mileage for the ford is between 14 to 19 give or take, not so good for the new chevys, they are lucky to be getting 10 or 12 at best.

dodge and cummins just signed until 2007 and they are also going to offer a 7.3 over 300 hp and 750ftlbs !so what is you powerchoke gonna do with that IJ nothing you cann't do much more and keep it together ! if you think that powerchoke can handle the cummins IJ we have a few truck and tractor pulls around here and we can find outIJIJIJ!!!!!!!! hey it's what ever you want too work on! thats why wegot the cummins don't like having too work on out trucks ! seeya

I think you better look again REDPOWER Cummins has purchased all it stock back from Ford a year ago. You also better look under the hood of your RED tractors cause they are Cummins powered. That is about the only thing good about that red junk
