How many acres could your operation do in one day with each combineIJ Thats great that Cat is making such a mark in the combine market. The price is stil a bit to high for the smaller farmers, but if one did have 2 deeres or case then it would be right to get 1 cat. Did yall just run 2 combines on all of that 9500 acresIJ Impressed with the yields! are they all bottom ground. We averaged 170 in corn and 37 on beans. But that is a great yield to have over so many acres. The rain hit at just the right times for us. How many semis do you run and auger carts as wellIJ what was some of the higher bushel days you hadIJ As for downing the Cats earlier, it in fact may have been jealousy. We have less than 2000 acres, still not enough for a Cat. We still run a 9510. If we traded up might go to 9550 or sts9650. Not sure what cat would compare to 9510IJ We run a 22 and 6row. Just some input and questionsIJ

budlight, if you are planning on staying with a 6 row setup, you won't want a 9650 STS. You can't drive fast enough to feed the machine without a 30 ft. platform and at least an 8 row corn head. In terms of capacity, all of the Cat rotary machines have quite a bit more capacity than your 9510. The only comparable model would be one of their conventional machines.

Budlight, Cat makes a smaller version of the lexion, a wheeled version only, the 450 model, which is a 5 walker machine with capacity in the range of the 9600...an ideal replacement for a 9550, especially if you would like to jump up a few ponies and have a bit more capacity. The 450 has 250hp and a 250 bushel grain tank and is 8 row ready and capable of operating very easily with a 30' flex head.

With the 22 foot header we leave it on while moving down the road. I usually have an escort to have people to pull in drive ways. However we have 5 farms that we must take the bean head off, plus for all the custom work we do. With 2 semi's and a 450 bu cart in good corn I can keep the 95 humming. The 450 currently would overload our drying system. We just need to put up about a 10,000 bushel dryig bin instead of having a 5,000.
