Combines Does Gleaner have a wedge kit for huggers

I don't know about a wedge kit, but know you are on the right track. I mounted a 12 row hugger on a JD9760 and they have an adjustment on the front of the feeder house that allows you to tilt the head forward and back. we tipped it back all the way so it runs flatter and what a difference. That header works so much better now than it ever did on my R62 just because of the angle. By the way it was a simple conversion to mount on JD. the newer huggers are made to fit on MF and Challenger so you just unbolt those pieces and get yourself a 3x5 sq tube for the top and 2-3" angle iron for down each side, plus you shorten the left hand drive shaft and your in business.

How did you fasten the 3X5 tubeIJ I might want to put it on a Case 7010 someday.

The 3x5 is what JD uses on their headers, Get whatever case uses, fill in on the sides with angle iron, weld top and sides together and bolt the reulting adapter to the gleaner header, so you can remove someday if you sell the hugger. This is all assuming that the case feeder house fits the opening like the JD did.

RJT, Would you please expand on what you mean when you say it works so much better on your JDIJ Does it feed better, lose less corn, etc... Thanks

"just because of the angle" it works better because it slides under the stalks that are laying over and I can carry the tip of the dividers a little higher. Because it is lower and flatter I have less accumulation of trash. I believe on my 94 R62 which didnot have lateral tilt like my 2002 R62 has they had an adjustment for tilt. I didn't know they made a wedge kit. I'm going to get one for the 2002 R62.
