We had the exact same problem with our '93 R52 when we first got it. It was a complete dog compared to the Deutz powered R50 it replaced. Thanks to advice from the Hyper guys, we sent it out to Midwest Diesel for recalibration. Best money ever spent! Our Cummins now simply snarls at anything that even tries to pull it down. Below is a link to the Hyper Mod page with the address for Midwest. HIGHlY reccomend you give them a try. Good luck- Tom langan

I'm not sure what is going on, as it seems that it was a change in performance of the engine. I saw they were trying to run today, but didn't hear any reports. Thanks, Irv

Check the easy things first. Fuel restriction and or charge to fuel pump. Pluged filter and or line would be number one. Some fuel charge pumps have had broken check valve and or junk in check valve. Some have had broken spring for piston which accually does the pumping. Make sure diaphram for waist gate in turbo is not ruptured for it will rob all the air that can get threw orfice in intake manifold thus no pressure to fuel pump diaphram thus pump will not allow anything close to max fuel to injectors. Even if everything checks out I'm sure that pump shop tuneup job on pump will only help. Good luck

check filters and primer_lift pump for proper supply to injection pump. check turbo boost under load. have had 2 engine with low hp due to bad diaphram in wastgate actuator. air leak prevented aneroid on injection pump from opening to allow max fuel. easy check --remove hose at wastegate actuator and clamp a 1_4"bolt in hose. if your hp increases actuator diaphram is bad.
