I'm not sure on the MM numbers, but it is most likely like an Oliver, maybe like a 535 or 7300IJ If someone can cross the numbers over I may know something about it. We had a Oliver 525 years ago. If the motor is right behind the cab then it is loud compared to todays combines. Ilnh

According to toytractorshow.com, the 4296 was one of the last true MM combines with the ones after that being of White design.

Do you know what year it was madeIJ I think if I remember right they made two sizes of combines. A 18' head would be the bigger one and it being diesel most likely a newer one, or the very last of them. Our Oliver was gas. Oliver had a 525,535,545 and 5555. I know MM had one the size of our 525. It was about 85 hp and 75 bu grain tank. Sorry it was a long time ago, I have some books someplace on some of these combines. Ilnh

The 4296 was the same combine as the Oliver 545 painted yellow. I has 42 inch wide cylinder.

Hello We ran MM for years 4296 4290 they were great little combines than you put that diesel motor in there made it a nice machine. Plus Terry took good care of that combine, I know where there are some parts combines if you are interested. I am assuming you are talking about the auction by Power Montana

Yup, I am refering to the auction near Power. Seems like there are 3 of them in that area. Right now I am running a 1967 JD 95 that we bought for $700.

Hello years ago we ran a 4296 with a 318 Chryseler Industrial engine and a 105 JD gas, the 4296 cut cirles around it.If you end up buying it I have a neighbor who has three of them, I am sure he would sell them for he CRP'ed it all one of his is a diesel. I would like to go to that sale as well to see what the 760 goes for. Have a good one Dale

Hello Yes it was the last MM combine, MM was bought out by white farm equipment than they made the white 5542. I looked at the combine tonight coming back from Great Falls. It is a nice looking combine. How about the 760 next to itIJIJ Dale

I would like to look at and bid on the 4296 but I won't be there. I don't think dad will since we don't need it and we would have a tough time getting it home not too mention that we would have to create some shed space. About the 760. We have been there and done that. We had a grey cab 760 for 3 years. Dad wasn't too pleased with it. It had a nice cab and great capacity. Could keep 2 single axle 400 bu trucks busy 2 miles from home. But the bearings were constantly being replaced from day one even though the machine was new. The sheet metal was also wearing thin. Seems like you can get them really cheap though.
