Dragco is a very nice head. Have run a 8 row 30 for 2 years. If you buy it with the chopping system the 9750STS feeder house belt will not last. Had the heavy duty belt also. Went through 3 of them in a season. Have not had any problems with the head. Automatic deck plates work great.

Feeder house speed was around 550-600. Ground speed was around 5-5.5 but the faster you go the job of chopping the stalks gets worse. I don't know about the fixed speed feeder house. located in SD

I would also take a look at the Geringhoff much more proven and lots of them around so you can visit with the farmers that have been running them for a few years now. It has a cutting system that isn't so speed sensitive like the lawn mower headers that are out there drago being one and cresonni and harvestec being the others. Also take a long look at the workmanship on these heads and you will see the geringhoff to be the best built one out there, with lots of satisfied customers out there to back it up.
