I have never been around a HB but love our MacDons. Some of the features of the HB apeal to me like the hyd sickle drive. HB has a new flex head out and it looks interesting. Here is a link to a pic. http:__u15205752.onlinehome-server.com_forums_thread-view.aspIJtid=3634andmid=21201nM21201 When we made the switch to MacDons we looked at JD, HB, and MD , went with the MD because the JD would not cut close enough for Soybeans, and the HB did not have a dealer that we knew. Whe run 3 MDs 25' 972, 30' 974, 36' 974. The 36' is on a lexion the rest are on 9600's.

I have plenty of good experience with MacDon, too. They also have an excellent harvest support in the wheat belt. A van follows the harvest just like the combine manufacturers do. They come out and help a new operator to get started, too.

I don't know which MacDon number the 2062 CIH relates to. We ran 963 MacDon's. last year we had a lot of trouble with bearings going out on the idler rollers of the side drapers. It could have been because of the way I had them set up. On your heads it depends on how many hours and how much dirt they have seen. The bearings on the idler roller of the side draper are usually the first once to go out. Next are the bearings on the center draper with the grease zerks on. If you don't like the difficulty of greasing the center draper bearings up front, you can put the same sealed bearing in there as on the side drapers. They might last just as long. MacDon heads have a habbit of rubbing holes in hydraulic hoses. Check all your hoses real close, especially underneath at the center draper motor. Use lots of cable ties and protective gear to keep them from rubbing. If you have more questions, send me an email at ralfnew@yahoo.com and I will try to help.
