Combines Drilling Hole in PTO Housing for Zerk

James You can reach the fitting from the bottom if you bend up a steel pipe (1_8) like comes with a new grease gun.

Have done this on several older combines and have never had any problems with it.

have carried out a few (8)and had problem with none of them u can reach it from the bottom ...but to drill teh hole it is easier to take the housing off and drill it only a couple of bolts hold it on..we found by painting a mark oppsite the nipple u can turn it with a screwdriver from below till ur mark comes to view and u will have the nipple in the right spot good luck

You will have no problems with drilling a hole through that pig iron. Use an inch and a half hole saw and drill the hole right on top towards the back. Make sure that you take a blow gun with you, and periodically stop drilling and blow out the filings to make sure they don't end up somewhere that they are not suppose to be.
