The wheat in southern Nebraska is in desperate need of moisture it got a bit of releif with a half inch this past weekend and the cool weather helps. We have had about one tenth the normal spring rains. The wheat is also about half the height as usual.

last year in our county 70% of the crops were sprayed out. The rainfall was very spotty. It was kind of a slap in the face when we had a nice 2 day downpour of about 2.5 in 2 weeks right before harvest. Our whole farm averaged out to about 15 bu. to the acre. Very hard on the combines. It doesn't look any better this year. We farm in north central Montana.

Hey there husker gleaner: Just curious what town you are fromIJIJIJ We got a inch of rain last friday night, that we really needed. The wheat in Seward county NE looks good but the only wheat is a 15 acre patch here and there. The corn always likes a good drink to.

Ironic. Our soft red winter wheat will be cut big time due to being under water. We no-til bout everything and our flat fields are washed BAD. Wettest winter on record in places. One report was 20" of rain in April in W Ky. In spots in W.Tn a few miles south there is a severe drought, planting has stopped and will have to replant what was planted as ground dried out below root zone. West Ky and other parts of W Tn will have to replant due to floods. Wierd..

It has been a strange winter. Ours won't end it seems, we got snow again last night, more predicted until Tuesday next week. This will be a late planting year and may put pressure om harvest if we don't have a decent september. We have good soil moisture from the april rain (snow) this year. (edmonton, alberta area)

Still very wet up here in Wisconsin. Corn usually is being planted this first week in May. However, this year high temps are only in the upper 40's and low 50's. Still need at least a week of good drying weather before we can think about going in the fields.
