Talked to a guy the other day that got an 8010 last year and he has had no problems at all. Knew one guy that got one in 03, had problems and wound up trading back for a new 2388, but I think most of that was lack of training on the part of the technicians. There were some problems in rice fields with the 8010's, but I've heard of soem that did well with them, so who knows. They'll get the bugs worked out sooner or later, I guess.

I agree...I think it will be a great combine in time Everything takes some work and patience Anyone who buys a brand new complex machine like that thinking its going to work as well as a 2388 is dreaming in my opinion. But hey..thats just me

Yeah I agree CASE FARMER, in time it will be a great combine. I remember when the STS first came out,boy they had problems also, but now they are getting better every year. In my area Case wanted Deere to bring a 9860sts to the field to run against the 8010's but Deere declined because the only thing they had in the area at the time, were 2 9760STS rice at dealer and they were new ,but not demo they had been customer bought. It was very hard to get a 9860sts last year, as well a 8010, but I would like to see the two combines in the same field!!

Yeah it would be fun.....hopefully both would run fine Something else thats hurt is there's so much new to the 8010's and the dealers and the mechanics are kinda lost on it. Thats never a good deal but not there fault Weve always ran case and never had any problems some local guys are deere and it seems like after about 2 or 3 years of greif it gets straightened out and there good combines But heck that might just be a fluke Machinery no matter what kind_brand can be a chore lol Hey does anyone in your area run a mcfarlen harrow or anything like thatIJ

No not to my knowlege Case Farmer, are those the pull-type harrows,if so there might be one or two farmers with them. Most Farms use 3pt. Harrows here in the DElTA.

I will try, same to you, If only these prices would get better and the government would help more on certain things like soyoil, ehtonol research, etc. would help because it could give us farmers a whole new market. I'm really tired of depending mostly on foreign oil when ther are so many other things the government could do.

Hey CaseFarmer, I live in north louisiana in the delta region and a lot of the rice farmers are running big McFarlane harrows. They do beautiful work. We don't have one personally but it's on our list of things to get. We usually do most of our tillage work in the fall. Talk to you later.
