Combines DT466 blows black smoke

Could be leak in air intake tubing to engine from turbo. Small leak will make black smoke. large leak like coupling falling off reduces rpm and lots of black smoke.

You could have a broken delivery valve spring or the holder may be loose. It is located under the big nut in the middle of the injection lines, the holder has a 12 point cap. Remove the nut and check the troque of the holder first 85-90 ft lbs. If the spec is right you will have to remove the holder and inspect the spring and valve. The torque for the big nut is 63 ft lbs
