Combines Dual Hyd spreader for N series

I don't remember if we ever installed one but at least a couple custumers installed their own. Don't think I ever retreaved the installation instructions. Surely it will spread better than single spreader on them older machines. Should be no problem what so ever with 20'. Don't think they'll do much for chaff so you'll want the chaff louver setup also. Unlike the factory dual spreaders of the R6,7,60, and 70's the field installed kit is driven hydralically. It uses the oil from existing hydralic reservoir but has it's own pump and flow control valve. Pump is driven off accelerator roll shaft. Pump and flow control valve are most specialized parts of the whole system but no more special than any other pump or valve parts. If you get a set of installation instructions and have the time to pull system off of salvage machine I think you will not have to much trouble. Good luck

I have an 84 N6 with a dual spreader - it works just fine. In green soybeans it will spread the straw the full width of the cut. I think the backend of the combine is different than a regular N My combine looks just like a R series in back.
