We bought a used N6 last year that has two spreaders. It has the original 2 paddle spreader right below the straw discharge and a much larger wheel with four paddles just about centered on the combine. The large spreader has a hydraulic motor that drives it and a belt that drives the smaller spreader off the larger one. There is a pump that is driven off a shaft extended off the accelerator rolls on the left side of the combine so that as soon as the separator starts the spreaders start. It works very well. With our 20 ft. bean head, it even throws a little straw into the unthresed beans on the right side of the combine.
