southwest lA. most rice machines have the 35.5-32 r2 on them we run the 900 metrics r2 on ours we don't have any gumbo mostly sandy loam and these boys walk have friends in central lA. farm in heavy red-black clay been using rubber tracks for years on 2388's only problem is when it's real dry ground is hard rough on frame of tracks runs 24ft stripper 8mph it's something to see!!!!!!!!!!! he was thinking of buying 8010 but 10000n more weight and they pulled them out of rice country

If you think that is impressive, you should watch a 480 Cat push a 42' honeybee 5 mph in 20% wheat!

yeh greeneater I bet that's impressive too I've cut wheat no camparison to rice straw but neither is a stripper head to a drapper or convitional head your not taking any staw I've got a 25ft drapper IH Mcdon in wheat there's not a high enough gear but in rice I'm happy to average 3mph I've seen the cat's heavy the cat that was at the rice field day a couple of years back wieghed more empty than the 2388's full with hopper ext. probably a good machine on hard ground PS I guess to each his own talk latter
